The name “Tin Drum’ is derived from the legend of the Tin Drummer. In ancient Asian culture the “Tin Drummer” was a young man who became an unsung hero as he used his tin drum to gather the entire village to meet together at the central cafe. Hi ability to bring people together and make a difference in his community through the simple act of hard work imparts a timeless lesson: like the Tin Drummer, they all have the same potential to make a difference and bring people together. This story sets the foundation for Tin Drum, a place where people can come together to enjoy delicious and comforting food by their staff of Tin Drummers.
Tin Drum Asian Kitchen was created as a tribute to the vibrant, fast-paced energy of the streets of Hong Kong. Since 2003, they have been bringing people from all walks of life together to share in hand-crafted Asian cuisine in a less ordinary dining environment. With passion poured into every dish, they’ve curated an adventurous menu of “Asia’s greatest hits” that please every palate. They truly set the standard when it comes to fresh-to-order pan-Asian dining, delivering high flavor for the people.
Their restaurant design was inspired by the Hong Kong curbside cafe called Dai Pai Dong. They have an open, theatre-style kitchen decorated with bold color images, and market-inspired shelving stocked with fun Asian snacks and merchandise. This eccentric restaurant design transports customers to the streets of Hong Kong and provides a dining experience, unlike any other fast-casual concept.
They lead in their industry not only because of their flavorful dishes, fun restaurant environment, and strong company culture but also because their franchise model positions them for continued growth. With a smaller footprint and a menu that lends itself to delivery and takeout, they were one of the few fast-casual concepts that experienced a successful year in 2020! Their lower start-up costs, simple operations, and high revenue potential have made Tin Drum an incredibly profitable opportunity for their owners as they bring authentic continental Asian cuisine to their communities.
Business Features:
1. High Revenues and Profit Margins: Their latest prototype is built for the new world. Even during 2020, this model generated $198,596* in net profit! In 2021 they exceeded this number.
2. Lower Investment: Because they need only large woks to mix their ingredients, there is less equipment and less space needed. Because of their smaller footprint and streamlined, standardized buildout, they are able to keep their initial investment lower than the typical restaurant concept that can be anywhere from $500,000 to $2,000,000 to get started.
3.Thrived Through COVID: While most fast-casuals experienced a difficult year in 2020, Tin Drum Franchise Owners thrived! Prior to COVID-19, 40% of t heir sales came from carry-out and delivery, so moving into off-premise dining during the lockdown was not a difficult transition. Delivery and takeout have long been integral to Asian foodservice businesses in the U.S., which will play a major role in the continued growth of this industry.
4. Fast-Growing Segment: The Asian food market has experienced consistent growth over the past number of years, increasing by 500% since 1999! Daring, exotic flavor profiles continue to gain popularity as diners seek out something different than their everyday sandwich or burger. Tin Drum is poised to be a major player in this space.
5. Wide-Open Territory & Multi-Unit Focused: While other Asian fast-casual franchises have limited availability, Tin Drum has wide-open territories across the US, including high-demand markets! This is a perfect opportunity for multi-unit minded candidates who are looking to scale and build an empire in their city.
